Welcome to Page 3 Suji n' Grommet's 2016 Litter
Since they're mountain dogs we nicknamed them after mountains.
There's Ruby/Sophie. > She's also a Suji n' Grommet puppy. The "Gems" litter. Pretty soon Everest/Sumo will be her best friend.
< And there's Zach/Max. He's Rainier/Misty's 1/2 brother and her new best friend. Shall we all wish Mary and Ted GOOD LUCK? hehehe
Our little fur ball long coat Fuji/Kaya is going to live with THAT! >
That's Emerald/Shugo and he is a litter mate to > Ruby/Sophie up above. Full big brother to his new charge, Fuji/Kaya.
05/18/2016 Babies are about 4 1/2 weeks.
I tried to get the kids to go out on the deck again today. Rainier/Misty and Everest/Sumo didn't wanna' know about it.
Rain and Sumo avoided me like the plague cuz they knew I'd make them go back in the puppy room or out of the deck.
< That's the puppy pool. I'll put some water in it as soon as it warms up a little. They're > both looking down at Whiskey. hehe
Denali was cracking me up. She came walking right out there and started looking around. She's staring at Whiskey in the picture I think.
It took her about 10 minutes and then she was running laps around me. Seriously. She only stopped long enough to bite me in the toe or in the leg. I think I have proof in a photo.
"If you can't beat um', just take a nap and think about it." He just layed down on the threshold and fell asleep.
Seeee, I told you Ted. :) She's trying to take a chunk out of my leg. She was running laps around me and she'd stop once in a while to take a chunk outta' me. Round and round she went. It was so funny. I think she just really loved to be outside.
Looks like their toenails could use some work.
Can you read the body language of the two?
05/20/2016 Babies will be 5 weeks in a couple days.
They all think the deck is pretty cool now but they'd still rather have their mother. Still tiny babies in giant bodies. Fuji/Kaya looks the biggest now because of her fluffy coat. Everest/Mr. Sumo looks the smallest but I bet he out weighs them all.
Rainier/Misty always has her feet crossed. The girls were all monsters today but I think Misty wins the prize. They listen when I tell them not to bite. At least they stop for a minute or two. Then they're off doing something else. Attention span = 30 seconds. :)
Everest/Sumo is a really good boy. I think he's more calm than the girls. He's a mama's boy.
There's fuzzy butt. > She was full of it today. Can't wait for Ted and Mary to see everybody tomorrow.
Her mother doesn't go under fencing or over fencing like most Akitas. She goes through the fence. "Apple doesn't fall far from the tree"?
We switched. Denali is going with Drew. We think Denali is going to be a handful and Drew is well equiped to handle an alpha. Thank you Drew!!
So if you see anybody labeled incorrectly please lemme' know!
05/22/2016 Babies are FIVE WEEKS old today.
Ted and Mary and one of their friends came to visit. Ted took a ton of pictures and here are some of the nicest ones. He said if you guys want copies of any of them to just let him know. THANKS YOU GUYS!!!
Rainier/Misty fell asleep in her new mama's arms. Pete was holding her today and she took a little nappy. >
They all love playing on the deck now. I wait until the sun is past, in the afternoon, then it's much cooler out there. I've got a couple inches of water in their pool now. I put them all in there yesterday when Ted and Co. were here. Denali turned around and jumped out. The other three stood in the cold water with pitiful looks on their faces. Lifting each paw out of the water. Kinda' funny. Today the water will be warm. We'll see. hehehe
"Ezra" is from the Bible of course and it means "God Helps"
Took some more pictures this afternoon. They're five weeks old today!
Took these two last night. Look at his cute little ears. hehe
The girls were all out on the deck. He goes in and grabs a toy. Happy out of the rat race.
Guess who's biting on the fence again? Luckily Ted and Mary don't have that kinda' fencing.
You can see that Kaya and Ezra are staying pretty dark and Misty and Sumo are looking more brown.
Kaya was actually > trying to get into the pool but I think Ezra talked her out of it.
That driftwood is always popular. >
Their mother has about had enough. She'll only nurse a couple times a day now.
05/25/2016 Babies are almost 5 1/2 weeks old today. They're growin' up fast! Sunday I'll de-worm them for the third time. It's not necessary but it can't hurt. I need to get their mother in for her rabies shot. The county let me wait on that. For obvious reasons. The vet said it's safe but why chance it. The babies won't have any shots. I gave up on that and I really don't like starting them at such a young age.
The vampire piranha stage is starting. Boy those little teeth are sharp!
These first 1/2 dozen pictures I took a couple days ago. I brought their pool in the house cuz it was too hot to play on the deck. The puppy room has an air conditioner running pretty much nonstop.
Sumo usually grabs a stuffed animal and finds a nice quiet place. >
They were HELPING me wash screens. Well, the frames of what used to be screens, before their mother jumped through them. Big help! hehe
"I'm a big scary grizzly bear!" >
They're so fun at this age. They're already learning "NO" but if I didn't know better I'd say they're mostly ignoring me when I scold them. :P)
05/31/2016 Babies are almost 6 1/2 weeks old. Sorry, the days got away from me. The lawn, Kelly and Mikoto, the holiday weekend. Ted's got some pictures to add but he's havin' computer issues....
Trying to take a couple more pictures of Ezra cuz Drew doesn't get to see her as soon as you other guys. She can't fly to Missouri until she's at least eight weeks old.
All around NINE lbs. now!
I gave um' some of their parents' supper. It was definitely a hit. I've given them all kinds of cookies and treats trying to toughen up their tummies for you guys. They also had their third de-worming. That should do it but you still might wanna' bring a sample to the Doc.
06/01/2016 Babies are 6 1/2 weeks old. Ted and Mary got some more pictures for us but so far they've only sent that one below. How's that for ADORABLE???
I stand in the puppy pool so they can't/won't bite my ankles. If they got too close I grabbed um' and put um' in the pool. They jump out and avoid me, like the plague, the rest of the afternoon. But look who actually came back into the pool herself!>!>!
They feel like they added another pound. They will grow roughly 10 lbs. a month their first year.
Denali/Ezra, below. Look at that face!! She's dangerous! That is not the face you wanna' meet in a dark alley. And just wait until she's 100 lbs.
I think everybody but Denali/Ezra are leaving this weekend. That went too fast. Ezzie can't leave until she's 8 weeks old. It's airline law.
Which is a good thing.
She was ^ guarding the place. Now she's hogging all the toys. >
06/04/2016 Babies will be 7 weeks old tomorrow and my instincts were right. It was too soon. They're not leaving until the weekend of the 11th at 8 weeks.
Here are some really cute shots from Ted and Mary. Thanks again you guys!
They hang out under the bench on the deck. It's the coolest spot on the deck in the morning. I have the air on in the puppy room so they're a little spoiled.
Rainier/Misty is already home with her big brother the big dope. Of course he's not really a big dope. We just like calling our boys that. They say Misty and Zachy/Max are total opposites. Misty loves their attention and she's just a happy girl.
More pictures as soon as they're settled.
Zachy/Max from the "Z" litter dedicated to Squiggle/Zoey and Blitzen/Zachy. Max is our one and only swimmer puppy. As you can see he's a success story!
Sounds ridiculous but it was like Misty knew Ted and Mary were her new people. The other pups would go in the house but she'd always stay with Mary or close by.
Over on the left there, that spotted thing Misty has, is a dried Northern Pike skin. We don't waste anything when we keep the fish we catch. The cats get the "Y" bones and the eagles and vultures get the heads and tails.
No, not the most accurate way to weigh a puppy. It's funny though, they all held really still like they knew what I was trying to do.
This litter is just strangly well behaved and mature. Have they been here before? :P)
