It's June 6th, 2016 today and the babies were 7 weeks old yesterday.
Rainier/Misty is already home with her big brother Zachy/Max.   It was reported that it was a little shakey at first but apparently they were running around the yard playing today.   WHEW!  She must have passed his tests.  Fuji/Kaya and Everest/Sumo are leaving on Saturday and Denali/Ezra is flying out on the 15th.
Nicknamed after Mountains.
We went out and played in the rain.  Pictures are a little dark cuz it was gloomy.  Didn't slow these guys down!

Don't worry Drew, I didn't miss the one ear up thing.  She was runnin' and they were floppin'.  :P)
Denali/Ezra
You'll love her new thing.  She tries to jump up to your face.  She thinks she's 6 feet tall.  :)
I tell her, "No, you stay down."  But I'm not really enforcing it.  I'm the gamma', I don't have to.  hehehe
Look at that face!

Had a little problem and some of the pictures got replaced by newer photos.  So if the pups aren't labeled correctly...
<  Not a very good picture but I wanted you to see where she's getting lighter.  Looks like fawn with black over-lay to me.

Sumo
<  Darker photo but you can see she's got the same markings as him but he's much lighter.

Baby black bears.  hehe
06/07/2016 Babies are 7 weeks and 2 days today.
We went on an exciting excursion today!  Thought we should check out grass and gravel and more of the new big world.
Well, as you can see Denali/Ezra was the most brave.  She wanted to go down those steps so badly.  I walked up and down a couple times to show them.  hehe
That's about when Fuji/Kaya vanished.  She didn't wanna' know about it.  Finally I carried Ezra and Sumo down the steps.  Ezra started eating dandelions and Sumo headed for under the car.   I went and hunted down Kaya so she could join us.  Under the car she went too.  I called them and got 2 outta' 3.  Eventually Kaya saw all the fun we were having and joined us.

We visited Whiskey and ate some weeds and some rocks.  It was a very successful adventure.
And of course, when I put them back on the deck, NOW Kaya wants to go down the steps.  She's had a taste of freedom!  Wasn't so scary after all.  I'll try to let them play in the big world as much as I can.  Want to expose them to as much good stuff as I can.

06/09/2016  Babies are 7 1/2 weeks old.  We tried the steps again.  Hilarious!  At first they wouldn't look me in the eye and Kaya and Sumo took off.

Watch closely and see if you see a pattern forming here.

I sat on the steps for a little while so they could see it wasn't scary.  Sumo went and got a ball to comfort himself.  That was after they all investigated every inch of the deck just trying to avoid the stairs.  Sumo even gave me one of those Akita bows that means I don't want to.  As you can see Ezra did it!  Then I helped the other two.  Sumo cried.  He's really a sissy.  You guys will have to take it slowly with him or leave him here longer.

Ez was rubbin' it in bad.
They were really watching her.  hehe
More of that pattern thing below?

Drew, the other two never got up on anything.  I'm so glad we didn't let Ted and Mary have Denali/Ezra!
So I put the two girls back up on the deck and went to fetch Sumo out from under my car.  You'll never guess who ran right back down the steps?
06/15/2015 Babies are 8 1/2 weeks and everybody is gone but Denali/Ezra.  She was going to fly out today but Drew's job got in the way.  It was almost too hot today anyway.  So Plan  B is next Wednesday.
So far so good with the pups at their new homes.  Their big siblings are all starting to like the idea of a new friend.  Once they realize they're still in charge...
The big guy is Emerald/Shugo who is also a Suji puppy.  Born in February of 2013 so he's 3.3.   Full brother and sister with the same parents.  Just three years apart.  The little round one is Fuji/Kaya of course.  Beautiful!!!
To the right, and below, is their first meeting.  The photo above is after about 4 days.  So far he's been pretty patient with her.
He not long ago lost his best friend who he's known since he was Kaya's size.  She'll help him feel better.  She'll definitely keep his mind off his grief.  He won't have time to be sad.  :)  Sorry for your loss you guys.
< That's Ruby/Sophie.  Obviously, by her name, she's also one of  Suji's "Gems".  So Shugo up there is her littermate and  that little guy she's staring at, and I'm not so sure I like her posture, is Everest/Sumo.  She better watch her p's and q's cuz when he gets big he'll remember.  hehehe
Couple shots of their mother that Ted took.  I love her to pieces!
< And then there's these two.  I didn't even see Rainier/Misty at first.  She's so little compared to Zach/Max.  Isn't he handsome.  He looks just like his daddy.
He's a Jager baby and he'll be three in August.  They're 1/2 brother and sister.
She wouldn't get in the pool here.  Course ours has water in it.  Maybe she likes purple better than yellow?  Say Ted, I've been meaning to ask...  Why is the kiddie pool in the fire pit?   hehe

These were taken right before they left.  Gives you an idea of how big they are.

And these I took today.  :)
More of that pattern thing > goin' on?  That's a clip to hold the gate open
These are all Denali/Ezra.  She looks more black in the photo
< Now she's watching one of the kitties up on the trellis.
And now she's climbing on her mother.
< YIKES!
06/19/2016  Babies will be nine weeks old tomorrow.  Only Ezra here now.
We three girls went for a walk.
<  She's watching t.v.  :)
I was on the kitchen floor, fixing screens that Suji has jumped through, and Ezra comes trotting into the kitchen.
Thought her mother knocked the gate down again.
Turns out, miss smarty pants climbed over the puppy gate.  I think that's a first.  After all these years she's the first.   At only 9 weeks.
Now she's after mama kitty.  > Good luck with that.  Scooter is the leader of the pack in this house.  Or she thinks she is.  She'll be 14 next month and she's known lots of Akitas.
Boot Scootin' Boogie, "Scooter".
Her parents' water dish.
"...You put your right foot in, you take your right foot out..."
Best buddies already!  Emerald/Shugo and Fuji/Kaya
06/21/2016  Babies were 9 weeks old 2 days ago.
Ears are starting to go up.  We call this the flying nun stage.  For those of you who are old enough to remember that show.

<  That's a clip to hold the gate open, when it's open.  The first  photo is only a couple weeks ago.  She can reach it now.
Let her out on the deck this morning cuz it's not 100 degrees out there today.  She was WILD running around and being so happy.  :)
She's watching the birds. >

My last baby is leaving tomorrow.  I'm going to miss her.  BUT, Whiskey is in heat so I only have to wait a couple months and I'll have more puppy breath.  Lord willing!
07/22/2016, Let's see, babies were three months old on July 17th.  I'm starting to get pictures from their new people and they are just adorable.  Well, see for yourelf.  :)
Filling in some of the gaps on the page.  This is first night home with her new daddy.
Ezra
There's little Emerald/Sumo playing with his big sister, Ruby/Sophie, and that funny looking Akita.  :)
Course now it's nap time.  hehehe
Apparently we're just as secure in the house as we are outside.
         Fuji/Kaya.
Man she's got BIG feet!
Denali/Ezra
<  Look at that baby bear head.  Sooooooooo cute
Their Mom said it was supper time and the two below weren't  invited.  They've got the pitiful face thing down pat.  But look at how good they are.   BIG and little angels.
Emerald/Shugo and Fuji/Kaya
Don't look now but there's a bear in the back seat!
Fuji/Kaya
Rainier/Misty.  If her ears were an inch shorter she'd be all around PERFECT in my opinion.  Sounds like Mary and Ted really love their new baby.
There were a couple little bumps in the road but all seems well now.  You guys are all through the worst, and it will all get better and better everyday.  HEHEHE,  I think  :)
That's Zachy/Max and he's the spittin' image of his daddy.  Even more handsome I think.  His new little friend is pretty naughty.  Look at those teeth!
Misty thinks that water dish is a swimming pool.

<  Ted sent me this picture soooo.....
I sent him the picture of his mud boy below.  It's also another fine example of girls being advanced comparatively.

Here's Drew with his new baby girl.  That's Denali/Ezra.  They're best buddies already.
That's Zach/Max and he belongs to Misty  >
He's Misty's new big brother.
Denali/Ezra
08/21/2016  Babies are about 4 months old now.  All doing well I think.  I'm FINALLY getting around to adding some pictures I've had since before Denali/Ezra left.  So, they're a little out of order but they're too cute to delete.
< Took this of their mama a couple days ago.  I think she's looking good.  I love her to pieces!  She was tied out while I was cleaning her kennel. She was born on 08/08/08 so she just turned 08.
All Denali/Ezra right before she left here.
Being a BIG HELP filling up the puppy pool.  We did manage to get some of the water in the pool.
Fuji/Kaya hangin' out under her new daddy's desk.
Or, hangin' over the air conditioner vent works too.
It's 11/11/2016 and the babies are about a week short of seven months. They're all BEAUTIFUL!!!
Here's Denali/Ezra the apple of her daddy's eye!
I know, I know, they'll grow into those ears.  Apparently I'm the only one worried about the ears.  The American Akita has larger ears.  Except I want the small thick Japanese ears and I'm going to keep trying to achieve that.
Everest/Sumo
He's going to be HUGE! >
Guess it's time for the NEXT PAGE!
