Whiskey n' Grommet's 2014 Litter.
Last Update;
Feb. 12, 2017
We're breeding Whiskey right back to change the rotation. She's young, and healthy, so it's best to switch her as opposed to the older girls. It's just too hard having two litters in the fall. I'm hoping Whiskey cooperates and has this litter after tax season.
Breeding planned for January 2014

This little baby boy is going to live with his big sister Pumpkin/Nova up in Willmar, MN. No deposit necessary 02/16/2014
There's fatso and her friends. Whiskey's such a good girl she can live with Chelsea the Poodle. I'm not sure who's the boss out there. The Poodle thinks she's an Akita.
03/12/2014 Whiskey has 11 days to go!!!
Babies are here! March 18, 2014!!!
#1 BOY Born 2:20 p.m. The usual. Dark brown. White knee socks in the front. Right front has a little more white than the left. Large white tip on his tail. White socks in the back. Lots of white on his chest and tummy. He was a surprise and Whiskey had him by the bedroom door. He's also got white around his nose and his nose is pink right now. He'll probably be a red like his mama.
#2 GIRL Born 2:56 p.m. Lighter around the neck than #1. White toes all the way around. Tiny white line down her chest and tummy. The white tip on her tail is half the size of #1's. She has a tiny white line on her forehead and she already has her skunk stripe. Maybe a fawn like Daddy?
#3 BOY Born 3:23 p.m. Same ol', same ol'... White feet all the way around. White tip on the tail almost as white as big brother's. Lotta' white on his chest and tummy. Another red?
#4 BOY Born 4:39 p.m. This guy came out butt first. He's got a tiny white tip on his tail. He's the lightest so far. White toes all around. White spot on his forehead bigger than his sister's.
#5 GIRL Born 5:29 p.m. WHITE This little girl is the runt, so far. She and #4 are the smallest. That usually changes when I start feeding them. They'll catch up. She scared me a little cuz she was slow to respond but she's all Akita now.
#6 GIRL Born 5:44 p.m. White feet all the way around. Big white spot on her chest and, of course, a white tip on her tail.
#7 GIRL Born 5:59 p.m. Guess? Except this little girl has a really white nose like her mama. Tiny white tip on her tail. Long white anklet on her left front and a white sock on her left. White toes in the back.
#8 GIRL Born 7:25 p.m. WHITE This little tank is one of the biggest pups. Almost double the size of her white sister. I already know what her nickname will be.
#9 BOY Born 9:27 p.m. The usual again. Big white tip on his tail. Almost matching white socks in the front and back. He's got the most white around his nose.
We'll nickname these guys after the "Muppets" and friends.
Abby Cadaby went to Rainbow's Bridge at 5 days old. Her mama laid on her. I'm sorry little girl.
One of the pups has a double skunk stripe. Didn't "Pepe Le Pew" have that problem? >
It's going to take me a while to figure out who everybody is. Sheesh. :)
I don't know who that is. Maybe #9 Skeeter. Could be #4 Oscar.
The big white girl looks orange but she was still wet. Definitely white.
Everybody is eating and complaining like they should be.
This gang will be ready to leave for their new homes on or after May 6th.
Now we just have to make sure their mother doesn't lay on them. Her spatial awareness needs work.
03/21/2014 Babies are three days old.
I recently discovered that three heads have white spots. Two of the boys and one of the girls. I still don't know who's who yet. I'll have to compare white feet to my notes. Gimme' a week, or two. :)
The white babies are the girls of course. I have them figured out. Miss Piggy is the big one and Abby Cadaby is the little one. If Abby catches up, which I'm sure she will, I'll be in trouble.
I'll definitely have to help out their mother and start feeding them puppy slop in a couple weeks. I'll give it a try at about 9-10 days of age. Usually they start chowin' before their eyes are even open.
I think the big pup in the middle is the other boy.
We lost the little white baby last night. Little Abby Cadaby. Her mama laid on her and smothered her. I tried to revive her but was unsuccessful.
03/24/2014 Babies are six days old.
The two darkest babies are boys. The two biggest babies are also boys.
Mama's giving him a kiss.
Boys are on the left, girls are on the right.
Boys are on the left, girls are on the right.
Boys are on the left, girls are on the right.
That one girl, up above in the middle, is also pretty good size. I'll soon bring my notes in there and figure out who's who.
Okay, Gladys, baby girl #2 has a white spot on her forehead. Only girl with the white spot. I'll remember her by; glad to have a white spot on my forehead. :)
Course we know Miss Piggy is the white baby girl #8. That one's easy. :)
First born, #1, is Fozzie Bear. First is Fozzie. That might work. He's got the biggest socks.
The guy with the most white on his nose, and the white spot on his forehead, is Skeeter. Baby Boy #9 He's got four matching socks.
#4 boy, Oscar, has a tiny white line going up his nose and a spot on his forehead. Soooooooo, Oscar, Skeeter and Gladys are the ones with the spots.
Sheesh, this may take a while. Lemme' know if I mislabel anybody. I could use the help with this gang. :)
03/25/2014 Okay, I was studying the babies today and I think I've got it. I can tell them apart in person but it's still hard in the photos.
I'm going to drop the numbers now. You can see their birth order up above.
Lamb Chop has a white nose and Camille doesn't.
Grover is the darkest and then Fozzie Bear.
Camille is the biggest girl. Then Gladys and Piggy. Then Lamb Chop.
Lamb Chop and Oscar are the lightest.
Sheesh. Now, will I still remember tomorrow?
Sorry to say, Miss Piggy went to Rainbow's Bridge with Abby. She failed to thrive. Something was wrong.
03/26/2014 We lost Miss Piggy today. She, "failed to thrive", they call it. You can see, in the pictures, everybody getting bigger, and more round, except Miss Piggy.
I thought Abby was catching up but in reality Miss Piggy was slowing down. I didn't notice until the day Abby died. I started making sure Piggy had a spot at the dinner table.
Last night she stopped latching on. I called the vet this morning and went and got puppy formula and a baby bottle. She kept getting worse. Ran back to the vet for saline and a hydration rig. When I got home it was too late. I've seen this with my Persian kittens. I haven't been successful with them either.
Goodbye precious. Go be with your little sister.
03/27/2014 Babies are nine days old. Wonder if our bad luck has anything to do with this litter being number 13 of this generation?
Oscar is the most red at this point.
03/28/2014 We lost Oscar today. He too "failed to thrive". They also call it "Fading Puppy Syndrome". Thank God it's never happened around here before. Kittens only. After researching I think the babies were not getting enough to eat. I tried to put all the little guys on their mama every chance I got but I should have been putting them with mama first. Mama was drying out and I didn't realize it. Today I started puppy slop. Only Skeeter and Grover were into it. A couple of the others ate out of my hand. I'll do my best not to lose anybody else. Please pray for us.
03/29/2014 Babies are eleven days old. We're all doing well. I started puppy slop yesterday. Some are into it. Some, not so much.
Sticking older pictures in to fill in space. :)
I'll start making the kissy noise when I feed them so they learn to come to that noise. Helps a little, with training, until they figure out it's a scam. hehehe
This is about the third time I've fed them. They're getting a little better.
Camille is still the biggest girl. She has a thick skunk stripe.
Skeeter and Fozzie Bear are still the biggest.
Camille complains the most when it gets too hot in the box.
One of them actually barked/growled at somebody trying to infringe.
Lamb Chop has a lot to say also.
I think Camille is a red.
I think Lamb Chop will be a fawn like Daddy.
Grover is still really dark. The darkest.
04/01/2014 Babies are two weeks old. I still have to supervise every moment they're with their mother. She laid on two of them today but I was right there. Normally I can slack off at 13 days but not with this gang.
They've been de-wormed for the first time today. I'll continue to de-worm them every two weeks until they leave.
I really don't see any sign of long coats.
I took forty pictures today but most didn't turn out. Wiggle worms.
Camille has the most dominate skunk stripe.
Still not too into eating the puppy slop. Much rather have mama. They all seem nice and chubby now though.
Lamb Chop was the first I saw up on all fours. They're all starting to cruise around now.
Am I labeling everybody correctly?
04/04/2014 Babies are two and a half weeks old and all's well !
They just ate and they're a mess!
Camille complaining. I think > she's probably alpha female. I startled her from a deep sleep and she responded by snapping at me. She doesn't have any teeth but that didn't stop her. From now on I'll be showing her who's the boss.
Grover is still the darkest and the smallest. He also has the nicest head of them all.
I think Grover and Lamb Chop are always hangin' out together cuz the other four are always walking all over them and squishing them. Big meanies.
< "I'm pretty sure Mom went out this way!"
The pad part of their noses will turn black.
Camille is the most red and the biggest girl. The other two girls may be fawn.
04/06/2014 Babies are nineteen days old.
They're finally starting to become little people.
I still have to supervise every feeding. They've been getting puppy slop twice a day. Growing fast now!
04/09/2014 Babies were three weeks old yesterday. I'll try to get more pictures on Sunday but tax season is getting ahead of me!
Neil and Brooke are coming on the 19th to pick their baby boy. Haven't heard from Chris and Craig lately.
Can you figure out who's who?
Can you see how much they've grown in comparison to that old frying pan?
Poor little Oscar also failed to thrive. You go play with your sisters at Rainbow's Bridge little angel.
This little baby boy is going to live Mike in Bellevue, NE. Deposit 03/06/2014
