Sabilla n' Grommet's 2015 Litter.
Planned breeding SUMMER 2015! Lord willing
Dibs List; First Deposit, First Served/Pick
This is our first breeding with these two. Very exciting!!!
You can see Sabilla's pedigree and pictures by clicking on the "Home" link above.
The litter due at the end of November 2014, was unsuccessful.
Please see below.
There's Daddy Grommet, the big fawn guy.
"Silly Billy" just blew her coat so she's lookin' a little rough. She and Whiskey are our "Valley Girls". hehehe Grommet's pretty happy about it. :)
CAN'T WAIT to see these babies! They're going to be AWESOME!
This was probably right after I asked him if he wanted to come out?!?!?!
We're having a little trouble with Sabilla's breeder. We'll let the Lord deal with that woman. Turns out, Sabilla is registered with UKC and not AKC. All of "Silly Billy's" accomplishments, in the show ring, were at UKC sanctioned shows. I will not be able to register any of her puppies with AKC. If the Lord gives us babies I'll double register Daddy Grommet with UKC and the pups will have UKC registrations. If having an AKC registered puppy is important to you then you may wanna' wait for the Next Litter.
I'm 90% sure she's pregnant. Sooooooooo exciting!!!
Now I'm 100% sure she's pregnant. Sooooooooo exciting!!!
Well, it's Dec. 3rd and I've lost hope. Except for maybe a glimmer. First "picnic" was on Sept. 26th. Sixty three days from then was Nov. 28th. Day of last "picnic" was Sept. 29th. Sixty three days from then was Dec. 1st. Apparently they can go up to sixty eight days butttttttttt, I dunno'. We just went for a long walk and then I took some pictures.
She seemed bigger a couple days ago. I thought her water broke on the 30th.
She's had a dark discharge but the vet said to wait and see. With false pregnancies they will nest and have milk and even have contractions but I've never seen discharge and no puppies.
She's happy and eating lots of cookies and she pretty much dragged me the whole walk. After my three major surgeries, in four months, she's in better shape than I am.
Couldn't figure out why she kept walking/slipping on the icy trail instead of walking on the exposed grass or snow. Then it dawned on me. She hasn't a clue what ice is. hehehe
She's still sticking to her whelping box and is always anxious to get back in the house...
Whiskey and Grommet just had a "picnic" and, Lord willing, there will be babies around Jan. 28th, 2015. There's a link at the top of the page. If this doesn't work we'll move everybody to the next litter. Or, I'll send your deposits back.
We're going to try to move on from this. Billy is such a good girl. I think this was way harder on me than her. Once she's been here a while, in a much more stable environment, we'll try again. Took some more pictures today, the 5th. There'd have been way fewer bunnies and squirrels in the yard this morning had she had her way!
At 4:35 a.m., on Dec. 4th, Sabilla had a big baby boy but he was still born. Another baby followed two days later. Also still born.
We'll have our girlish figure back in no time!
I started this puppy page last fall so all of these photos are almost a year old.
Okay, it's August, 2015and we're getting ready to try one more time. When I bought Billy she was advertised as a 4 year old. She was to turn 5 in November 2015. Turns out, she turned EIGHT in Nov. 2015. Grommet's mama had a litter when she was 10 so we're going to go for it. The vet said if they're too old to get pregnant they won't get pregnant. Sooooo, wish us luck and PRAY!!!
Billy is blowing her coat so I'm watching for her to come into heat. Please Lord, let us have some Billy babies! I won't start taking deposits until I know she's pregnant and those families will know that it's possible we'll have a repeat of last time. In that case, they'll either get their deposits back or, get moved to the next litter in the order of deposit dates.
I'll put some new pictures here soon. Stay tuned! Very exciting!!!
