I can't believe they were four weeks old yesterday. 02/20/2015

They're definitely little people now. I'll do my best to get more pictures. Isn't it hard to believe that they weighed a pound just a month ago? Still can't tell for sure who are long coated. Except ol' Sam of course. His new name is Kisumi. And, Mike is spoken for too. We don't know his new name yet.

We THINK Cindy is movin' to Rockford.. IF she doesn't turn out to be a long coat. Her new name will be Sofie.

It's easy to tell the white boys apart. For the moment, and, from the front. Greg's nose is totally black already. Bobbie's nose is about half done and Peter's is still pretty pink. He's workin' on it though. We THINK he's goin' to live with Bob and travel all over with his new daddy. Bob's kinda' leavin' it up to me. Now I'm leanin' more toward Greg but I gotta' talk to Bob. Greg's ears are already red/orange. The other two boys may or may not get red points. Like on the edges of their ears. Their coats are still an issue too.

They've been out of their whelping box/cage a little the past couple days. They are all very confident. Alice was amazingly fun to watch. She's like really happy to be freeeeee. They can all climb out but I still don't trust their mother. Cindy is still squishable. I de-wormed them again yesterday. I'm still feeding them "Purina Puppy Chow" made all soggy. TWICE a day! Soon they'll be able to eat it dry. They're eating about 4 cups a day which is more than I've fed any litter that I can remember. They're very friendly and outgoing except maybe Mike and Sam. They don't seem to care about anything but Mom and puppy food. Typical males. :) I'd have to say that Cindy and the white boys are the most sociable. Marsha will probably be alpha since she was first born. Cindy isn't afraid to take on her big brothers though. That's pretty funny. She's catchin' up but still about 1/2 their size. She's got the Akita confidence. Maybe it's cuz I haven't let anybody push her around at chow time?

02/23/2015 Babies are 4 weeks and 2 days. :)

Here's Nicole with her new baby "Alice". She's naming her Luna. Nicole and her sisters took these shots. Thanks girls!!! Oh, Nicole's brother, Solomon, has Moe/Crixus. He's a long coat but Nicole is settling for a regular coat. hehe Nicole just graduated from college and is starting a whole new life. How better than with a new friend!!! Good work Nicole!

Please pray for an early spring so THIS can go out on the deck and play.

They're finally eating dry puppy food.

They love to sleep by the door.

Sam/Kisumi bit me today and drew first blood. Not like everybody else isn't trying. :)

Pete came over to see them today. They all love him.

They're all figuring out the kissy noise. I make that noise when I feed them to hopefully help their new people teach them to "come" when called.

Got their AKC paperwork the other day. We're official.

03/07/2015 Babies are 6 weeks old today!

So much for trying to get pictures every other day. I'm just too busy. I've got 3 corporation returns to do before the 15th. Yikes!

We got to go outside and play for the very first time today!!!

Greg/Rumpus was the first and he charged right out. I don't think he's afraid of anything!

Then out came Sam/Kisumi. No problem.

I think little Cindy/Sofie was next followed by Mikey.

Alice/Luna and Peter didn't wanna' come out.

That's an upside down puppy pool. Of course Greg/Rumpus had to check it out.

Anyway, I carried Peter and Alice/Luna out. That worked for Pete. He decided, after a couple of minutes, that this was pretty cool.

Alice/Luna, on the other hand, stood there long enough for me to get a couple of shots and back in she went.

Appears I got a little carried away in the picture shrinking department. First they're all too big, now too small. I'll adjust for that next time. :)

So, everybody loves the snow and being outside. Except for Alice/Luna. We'll take it slowly with her. Don't want to force them into anything.

When I finish here I'll go de-worm them for the third time. Anybody who's still here in two weeks will get another dose.

I just had a bunch of friends come over with all their little humans. Most of the puppies just loved the kids.

Trying to expose them to all kinds of new people, places and things.

I TRY to take the same amount of pictures of everybody but it's almost impossible. I took SEVENTY TWO pictures today. Some were too dark. One actually didn't even have a puppy in it. Somebody must have taken off just as I took the shot. No cooperation what so ever!!!

Hope I have everybody labeled correctly. Please lemme' know if you find an error.

03/10/2015 Babies are 6 1/2 weeks old.

My buddy Mona came over today to visit the kids. She raises Boxers but can't resist an Akita baby.

There is something very intriguing about a pile of drift wood. Never know what you may find...

< That looks like Alice/Luna but I think it's Marsha. Luna has no problem venturing out on the deck now.

Boyfriend Pete came to visit today too. (Grandpa Pete.) They really love everybody. Course, Mona and Pete are pretty easy to love. :)

< There's Marsha. She's still available. Hard to believe. Last but definitely not least. She's actually one of the nicest pups in the litter as far as show quality goes. She's still the darkest. She's pretty perfect!

Mikey has his new name now. It's Thorin. I've been calling him Thor. Really fits! Good job Devin and Allison! You are going to have your hands full !!! Again, not many pictures of him. He was too busy biting my sock!

Cindy/Sofie really had us in stitches today. Look at her. She laid there with her feet straight back for the longest time. Too funny.

Maybe you should have named Cindy/Sofie - Bandit. Like a little raccoon. hehe

03/13/2015 Babies will be 7 weeks tomorrow. And, they're out of control !!! It's like a mob scene/riot trying to clean up after the little monsters. I TRY to sneak in when they're out on the deck but if just one hears me... it's all over.

< Alice is now available! Her new mommy got accepted into Grad School so her plans have changed. CONGRATULATIONS! We know you're sad that you can't have your baby but your education is so much more important right now. Good luck and study hard. Lord willing, we'll be here when you're ready!

They've got more space now. They have half of the other bedroom and the hall. They can watch their daddy and I when they're not terrorizing the rest of the house.

As you can see, they like to hang by us in the hallway.

They look pretty secure to me. hehehe

< Everybody is sleeping in a pile. Bobby and Sam have their heads on Cindy and it's sooooooooo cute! Course, too dark to see. Where's Greg, you ask? Check the pool. The picture above is a close up. hehehe

< Now look at him! He's after the fake kitty that sits on the bench. He's probably thinkin' it's not near as much fun as the real kitties but at least this one doesn't keep bopping him on the head. :)

They changed the spelling of Kisume to Kisumi.

We've had some name changes too. Sam/Kisume became Kisumi. Cindy/Sofie went back to being just Cindy. Alice/Luna went back to just Alice. Marsha became Sofie and then Molly. Bobby/Pup 3.0 is now Casper. I had Peter/Iorek all messed up. So, I'm trying to fix them all. I'll probably miss a few. Their correct names are on the "Dibs List".
