This little man's new name will be "Max" and he's moving down to La Crosse, Wi. with Mary and Ted. Deposit 12/22/2012

Whiskey's 2013 litter. Since both girls have their litters so close together families can choose between either litter. First deposit, first served/pick.

This guy is from Jager n' Grommet's first litter. 2009 The Grandpa "Mac's namesakes" litter. MacCasey/Atreides "Tre". He'll be 4 in November.

Jen says he's about 115 pounds. He's pictured with one of his twin humans. That's Harry. He also has a human sister to love and protect.

This big guy is also a Jager n' Grommet baby. Lucian/Ivan is out of Jager's 2011 litter. He's playin' with his new little 1/2 sister a Suji girl.

You may have your choice between a regular coated baby and a long coat. The long coats are becoming very popular. I believe some breeders are trying to get AKC to list them as a new breed. They're BIG and awesome!

< There's Daddy Grommet with his kitties. The little one was born here, almost 8 weeks ago, and we're slowly letting her explore outside the safety of her cage. The other kitties were here when Grommet was born so they were never an issue. So far so good with the new baby. I can almost trust him but I still keep a close eye on them.

Here's Mommy Jager with about 11 days to go.

We're going to nickname these guys with names starting in "Z". In remembrance of Zoey and Zacy, our dear friends, who went to "Rainbow's Bridge" this year.

BABIES ARE HERE!!!

Except we only got three little miracles this time.

#1 GIRL Born at 8:55 p.m. She's got a long and wide white stripe down her tummy. She has matching white feet in the front and white toes in the back. There's a white tip on her tail. She may be a fawn with black over-lay or a brindle. Too early to tell. Nickname "Zoey".

#2 GIRL Born at 9:49 p.m. She's got a white nose. Not sure where that came from??? White knee socks in the front. Big white tip on her tail. She was born black but now she's looking like Daddy. Pretty sure she's a fawn. Her left rear foot is white, and the right rear, white toes. Her whole underside is pretty much white. From her attitude I'd say she likes to have her way. Nickname "Zelda". Means woman warrior. :)

#3 BOY Born at 11:30 p.m. He's the darkest. In the pictures below he's still wet. He's got white toes all the way around. A little white stripe from his neck to his tummy and a white chin. It took a while to get him going. Either cuz mama Jager dropped him on his head or, cuz he's going to be really laid back like his daddy. Nickname "Zach"

Zoey is heavier but Zelda is longer. Tells me Zelda will be more like her dad and Zoey more like mama.

Zelda is a lady with a mission. I was trying to help Jager with Zach and I had to keep putting the traveling Zelda back with Zoey who was sleeping peacefully.

We go by deposit date.

Her litter is due October 5, 2013

Mary and Ted have the earliest deposit date so they have first dibs on Zachary. If they decide to wait for a Whiskey baby then Mallysa and her gang are next in line for Zach. Then comes Alisha and Steve and then Suzanne and her gang. Both repeats.

Tom and Kay have first pick of either Zoey or Zelda. Then Chris and Craig who have already decided to wait for Suji's next litter. They have a Suji boy and love him to pieces. Sooooo, second pick is Steve and Liz. Then comes the Brashears. Who are also repeats.

August 5, 2013 Babies are three days old.

Not much change yet.

Mama and everybody are doin' great. Jager is a very good mama.

I only took pictures of Zelda's face to show her white nose. The other two have black faces and I'll get more pictures of them in a day or two.

August 9, 2013 Babies are a week old.

They still kinda' look like little rats.

Zelda's little nose pad is already turning black. The white areas around it will stay white.

Pretty sure we're all short coated. No fuzzy bears in this batch.

They all look to have very nice coats and heads and ears.

I won't have to start feeding these guys for 3-4 weeks. Mama has plenty. They look a little malnourished don't they? hehehe

Notice the girls have moved around? Not Zach. He's takin' life in stride. A very slow stride. :)

August 13, 2013 Babies are a week and a half.

I threw Zachy on the scale today and he weighed in at almost FOUR POUNDS!!!

Almost tripled his weight in a week and a half! HUGE!

Now I'm thinking he's going to need to see somebody about his weight problem. hehehe

They're pretty much just eating and sleeping still. I'm hoping they're not too fat to walk. :)

August 20, 2013 Babies are two and a half weeks old.

They're starting to cruise around now. Zachy is a little behind his sisters but then, he's a tank! None of them like the hot weather. Zoey complains the most.

August 22, 2013 Babies will be three weeks tomorrow.

Guess I shouldn't have been joking about Zachy's obesity. (It's a coping mechanism for us chubby people.) :) From being lazy and over eating and laying on his tummy too much he's become a "Swimmer Puppy". The chest forms abnormally. Sunken. They look kinda' like a turtle when trying to get anywhere. I think I caught it in time to totally correct it but we'll need some prayers please.

From the pictures above you can see that he was starting to show signs at about a week and a half. Laying on his tummy with legs all stretched out. Which is not unusual unless they never lay on their sides. I didn't catch that. At 15-16 days I picked him up and immediately felt his sunken chest.

He's going to need lots of luv, luv, luv. I have to constantly go in there and make sure he's not sleeping on his tummy. I also help him practice walking, moving his legs and trying to get him to stand up. I think I'm seeing improvement.

His sisters, on the other hand, are starting to really cruise around. They mostly complain cuz they're hot.

August 26, 2013 Babies are three and a half weeks old.

We still have a ways to go with Max as you can see in some of the photos. I think he'll catch up to his sisters soon. He's a strong and determined little man.

Soon I'll start feeding them their puppy food. I'll be mixing "Iams Puppy" with "Purina Puppy Chow". The new families can get either brand. I'm going to skip the soggy food and go right to the dry kibble.

I can barely tell Zoey and Zachy/Max apart. She has a bigger white tip on her tail and a little more white on her front feet. Also more white on her chest.

August 29, 2013 Babies will be four weeks old tomorrow!

We took our first trip outside!

None of us were very thrilled about the situation. It was still pretty hot outside. We all complained quite a bit but Zelda wins the prize! Zoey was the most brave. She was cruisin' around exploring stuff.

September 1, 2013 Babies are 4 weeks and 2 days old.

Zachy/Max is really starting to get around now. His front legs are pretty normal but we still have some work to do on the back legs.

He's sooooo lazy it's really hard to get him motivated.

I think they all like their new found freedom. They climb in and out of the whelping box with ease. Even Max. If it cools off a little we'll let them play outside on the deck.

September 3, 2013 Babies are 4 1/2 weeks old.

Zach/Max can actually run now. He was the brave one today too. His sisters had to be carried out on to the deck and both retreated right back in the house.

My little teddy bears!!!

Soon, they turn into baby piranhas.

I'll give them their second de-worming on Friday at five weeks. They all seem to be really nice babies. Show quality in my book. :)

Zachy/Max has just about caught up to his sisters. He still spends most of his time layin' around. Even today on the deck he'd run and act all sassy and then plop down on his tummy. :) Still needs some work. He doesn't like that word! hehe
