This baby girl is going to have an America Eskimo for a, not so big, big brother.  She'll probably out weigh him by the time she's 6 months old.  Kylo and his daddy Jack are anxiously waiting but may have to pass on the next couple litters.
Male
Here's Whiskey Lullaby, alias Lil' Red or Boom Boom.
Somebody should ask her what those three dead rabbits are doing in her kennel.  Guess she's moved up from drowning the chipmunk last summer.  Any rabbit stupid enough to go into an Akita pen shouldn't be breeding anyway.   :P)  She's really a good girl.  The vet came today and we didn't bother to muzzle her.  She loves everybody, except bunnies.  hehe
And my Suji Moo.  She's lookin' pretty good for an old girl.  She just turned 8.   Born on 08/08/08 plus she just had pups about 4 months ago.
She's only tied out cuz I was cleaning her kennel.
< Better not leave out the new kid on the block.  Tokuguay's Ama No Azume  "Ahmee"
(ah-me)
Almost 12 weeks and she's allll Akita.
^ "Ahmee"  (ah-me)
And, the very newest member of the family.  The naughtiest puppy I've EVER had, (The white one.)  Shiyoko, "YoYo".  We'll breed her in the summer of 2018.  I can't wait to see what her babies will look like!
Pretty sure Ahmee outweighs Whiskey already.  She's 10 months old now.  Where'd that time go?
First Deposit - First Served (Pick)
I don't require a deposit from those of you who are already owned by one of my Akitas.  For you, we go by the date you informed me that it was time for another.

Mufasa/Mufasa's people are ready for another!  I'd like to thank Patty again for all the help and support she provides.  Don't think we would have gotten this far without her~!  They're not sure if they're going boy or girl this time.
Front yard during summer.
Back yard during winter.
Suji and Grom on their back deck.  They're both going to be 10 this year.  Grommet in April and Suji's birthday is 08/08/08.  Easy to remember. They mostly hang inside on the futon.
My Shiyoko.  "YoYo".  All my girls are pretty special but I think Yo is the closest to what I'm trying to accomplish.  Look at those beautifully thick ears!!!  I've searched high and low for those ears!!!
Mizar/Jersey
MacMurray/Hachi
I was just looking at the Akita Standard at AKC.org and ran across this Akita History.  Thought this would be a good spot for it.

"History

Akitas are Japan’s entry in the ancient canine clan of spitz-type dogs bred around the world on the globe’s northern latitudes. The breed as we know it was developed in the early 17th century in the Akita prefecture of northern Japan. It is said that the emperor banished a wayward nobleman to the prefecture, the northernmost province of the island of Honshu, where the nobleman was ordered to live out his days as a provincial ruler. As it happens, this exiled aristocrat was an ardent dog man and encouraged the barons under his sway to compete in the breeding of a large, versatile hunting dog. Generations of selective breeding produced the Akita, a powerful hunter with a strong work ethic and stout heart who worked in packs on such big game as wild boar, deer, and the fearsome Yezo bear. Owning Akitas was once restricted to the imperial family and their court. In more recent times, just plain folks the world over have employed their Akitas as world-class family guardians.

Akitas have for centuries been the object of myth and legend and occupy a special place in Japanese culture. When a child is born, the parents will usually receive an Akita figurine signifying happiness and long life, in keeping with an old Japanese tradition. A famously loyal Akita of the 1920s named Hachiko is among Japan’s most cherished symbols.

Various times during the Akita’s long history, the breed teetered on the brink of extinction. To ensure the Akita’s survival, a Japanese national breed club was founded in 1927. Helen Keller is credited with bringing the first Akita to the United States, a gift she received while visiting Japan. Akitas caught on in America after WWII, when returning GIs brought them back from the Pacific. The breed entered the AKC Stud Book in 1972."
